What It Does
Creates a responsible paid family-and-medical-leave insurance program for Georgia workers. The program would help eligible workers take paid time to recover from childbirth, care for a new child, heal from a serious illness, or care for a loved one—without being forced to choose between recovery and a paycheck. The proposal includes small-business safeguards, small shared payroll contributions, strong anti-retaliation protections, and a protected insurance fund with public accountability.

What It Does

It would require long-term affordability, local accountability, responsible use of taxpayer dollars, and transparent reporting on results.

The bill supports rural clinics, mobile-health services, telehealth, maternal and postpartum care, mental-health services, and incentives to bring and retain health-care professionals in South Georgia. Your ZIP code should not determine whether you can see a doctor, receive mental-health support, or get safe care before and after childbirth.

What It Does

The bill prioritizes careers in health care, skilled trades, maritime and logistics, construction, public safety, childcare, technology, and coastal-resilience work. A diploma should open a door to opportunity—not leave someone wondering what comes next.
