Core Bills for Georgia House District 180
If elected to the Georgia State House, these are the first major bills I will work to introduce, build support for, and pass. They focus on the everyday issues facing families in House District 180: affordable housing, health care, good jobs, childcare, family recovery, and coastal resilience.
Each proposal is a legislative framework. Final bill language will be developed with Georgia Legislative Counsel, informed by community input, reviewed for cost and implementation, and advanced through the public legislative process.
My First Legislative Priorities
Georgia Working Families Recovery & Leave Act
Creates a responsible paid family-and-medical-leave insurance program so Georgia workers can recover from childbirth, care for a new child, heal from serious illness, or care for a loved one without losing their paycheck. Includes small-business safeguards, shared payroll contributions, anti-retaliation protections, and full public accountability.
Coastal Workforce Housing & Homeownership Act
Helps working families afford to live in the communities they serve. Expands workforce housing, homeownership support, home repairs, and long-term affordability protections for teachers, nurses, first responders, veterans, childcare workers, and other essential workers.
South Georgia Health Access & Maternal Care Act
Strengthens rural clinics, mobile-health services, telehealth, maternal and postpartum care, mental-health support, and efforts to bring health-care professionals to South Georgia. Your ZIP code should not determine whether you can get care.
Coastal Georgia Skills-to-Work Act
Expands paid internships, apprenticeships, credentials, and direct career pathways in health care, skilled trades, maritime and logistics, construction, public safety, childcare, technology, and coastal-resilience work.
Georgia Family Childcare & Workforce Act
Expands safe, affordable childcare by supporting providers, workforce training, start-up assistance, extended-hour care, and community partnerships. Childcare is essential workforce infrastructure.
Coastal Family Resilience Act
Helps Coastal Georgia prepare for storms, flooding, insurance pressure, and infrastructure challenges through drainage improvements, home-hardening assistance, flood mitigation, emergency preparedness, and resilient construction training.
Coastal Georgia Veterans Care & Access Act
A responsible plan to study and expand access to safe, high-quality long-term care, caregiver support, and veterans services closer to home in coastal Georgia.
